Electronic commerce Essay Example for Free

Electronic commerce Essay With rising prices on many items, and an unstable economy, many people have begun to buy and sell things online. Much of the time, you can get better deals shopping online, and make profits selling online. One of the biggest online auction sites is eBay. EBay gives people the chance to buy items online by bidding, and offers sellers the chance to sell some of their old stuff just lying around, or sell items they have gotten somewhere else. Being an eBay seller can be fun, exciting, and rewarding and also make you some extra money in the process! To become a successful seller, there are a few things that you should do to become the most profitable and reputable. First, you are going to need to set up your eBay account online. You simply go to their website, www. ebay. com and enter in all of the required information. Next, make sure you set up a PayPal account. PayPal offers you the ability to accept payment from buyers, as well as offers protection to buyers, and buyer’s like that added protection since after all it is online. You can get to PayPal’s website at www. paypal. com. Be sure to enter in all of your banking information so you can transfer the money you have received from your sales, into your bank account. PayPal is secure, so don’t worry about that. The selling process is about to begin! Figure out what exactly you are going to sell. Whether its stuff laying around the house or items you are buying in bulk and reselling on eBay. Make sure you research your item to see if it has sold recently, so you can get an idea of what it’s worth. Next, you will want to take really good photos of the item that you’re selling so the potential buyer can have a great idea of what they are actually bidding on. When setting your starting bid, be sure to start it a few dollars less than the last comparable item sold for. Now, you will need to put in the items title. Typically it’s a short description of the item, such as, â€Å"Brand New Avent Bottles Package of Three. † This will give potential buyers the ability to view your item when searching for an â€Å"Avent† bottle. Next, you need to add a detailed description of the item. Be sure to include in the description any information about the item, the dimensions, if needed, any flaws, and in some cases, how the item can help them, almost like a selling point. Afterwards, you will need to select the appropriate shipping information by entering the dimensions and weight of the package, along with what carrier you are shipping with. Also, be sure to list as a 7 day auction. Using 7 day auctions gives eBay buyers more time to search for your item. Finally, review all of your information for accuracy, and list your item! While the item is up for auction, you will be able to monitor through your eBay account how many people have viewed the item, and how many potential buyers are watching your item. Be sure to answer any questions you receive via email from buyers promptly. By answering in a prompt manner, buyers will more likely be able to get an answer to their questions, and judge if they want to bid on your item. Also, this gives potential buyers the impression that you are great seller by addressing their needs in a timely fashion. EBay also offers a mobile app that will send you updates almost instantly. If you download this app, you will have the ability to get notification on your smartphone, if anyone has something they need assistance with. At the end of your auction, hopefully your item has sold. If it has not, you always can re-list the item again. However, if it has sold you should pat yourself on the back. Typically, buyers pay within three days of close of auction. After your buyer pays, you will receive notification, and will be able to print a shipping label online. The shipping charge will be deducted from your PayPal account, and you will get a discount for being an eBay seller. Be sure to ship your item right away, as buyers want the item they have paid for in a timely fashion. Another thing, EBay reputation is a big thing potential buyer’s look at. As an eBay seller, if you do not have a good selling reputation, chances are no other buyers will bid on your items. Also, if your buyer has a problem when they receive your item, be sure to address any concerns they may have, and treat them like you would want to be treated as a buyer. Finally, leave positive feedback for your buyer, they should return the favor. If you enjoyed your first selling experience, keep it up! EBay is an easy way to make money, and have fun!

Tension In California Politics Essay -- American Government, Proposit

Being part of a nation that is founded on the pillars of democracy, it seems to make sense to give the people a voice in the governing process. In California as well as other states, the initiative and referendum process is a tool of direct democracy utilized by the citizens. California allows statutory and constitutional initiatives to be placed on the ballot. In a utopian world, direct democracy is an ideal form of governance for it gives the people the power to decide; however, direct democracy is an idealistic tool for it gives the ability to create policy and constitutional changes to people who are not knowledgeable of the issue. William Jennings Bryan argues that direct democracy such as the initiative and referendum process does not decrease the importance of the legislative body nor does it take away the authority of the legislators elected into the legislature. However, it is evident that past propositions had a great impact on the function of the legislature by changing its institutional processes and norms. Through the passage of different initiatives pertaining to the legislature, it is undeniable that the relationship of direct democracy and the California legislature has created tension in Californian politics. In order to understand how the tension formed, we must address the changes that the initiatives brought to the legislative system. Addressing the consequence and benefit of the passage of propositions on the legislature is crucial in understanding the formed tension. We must also address how direct democracy has impeded the function of the legislature. By tackling these issues, we will better understand the tension it created in Californian politics. First, initiatives like any other issues have two sid... ...th the legislative body. The premise that direct democracy has impeded the job of the legislature is evident. We see that the usage of direct democracy has created a tension in California politics. The initiative process is not solely used by the citizens but by legislators as well. Tension is created when the job of legislator and the function of the legislature are affected. However, there is lack of tension when the initiative benefits the legislature. The constraint created by the passage of Proposition 13 and 140 contribute to the tension and only reinforces it. Although we see a tension between direct democracy and the California legislature, it does not mean the legislature lost its full authority but rather slowly decrease some of it. The legislature cannot lose full authority for the legislative body is an integral part of representative governing.

Catholic Religion Against Birth Control Essay

Religion Against Birth Control The Catholic Church has had a ban on birth control from the earliest days of the Bible. The catholics believe that birth control is absolutely wrong, and a grave sin. Birth control has been around at least since the times of the ancient Greeks and Romans . During these days birth control came in the form of animal skin condoms and various poisons to be used as spermicides (â€Å"Catholic Church Birth Control. â€Å"). Catholic believers were told to receive every new born life as a gift from God. The first ever mentioning on banning birth control is in the book of Genesis 8:8-10. The next mention on birth control being wrong is located in the book of Deuteronomy 23:1 (â€Å"Catholic Church Birth Control. â€Å"). Catholic families were told then to actively seek in having as many children as they possibly can. The more children that Catholic families have, the more Catholics there are to spread that way of life and to pay the church’s tithes. The barrier methods of birth control, such as the condom, the cervical cap, the birth control pill and Depo Provera are thought to interfere with the act of conception (â€Å"Epigee HOME. â€Å"). Preventing the egg from being fertilized by a sperm may hinder a womans pregnancy and stop the beginning of the pregnancy stage. Purposely stopping the joining of an egg and sperm is thought to be a sin, therefore these forms of birth control are not accepted. Since then Catholic leaders have become very furious about the Obama healthcare law which is forcing Catholic schools, hospitals, and charities to buy birth control pills, abortion-producing drugs, and sterilization coverage for their employees (Obama vs. Catholics: The War on Religious Freedom. ) Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius think that the church is wrong, and that it should grant women access to contraception (avoid pregnancy) despite their moral opposition. The battle between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration has landed in headlines today. As the church begins a fight against Obamas January 20th Health and Human Services mandate that Catholic employers and insurance agencies should provide contraception, sterilization, and abortifacients to employees and clients (Obama vs. Catholics: The War n Religious Freedom. â€Å") In ruling, the Administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying Catholics the Nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty. As a result, unless the rule is overturned, Catholics will be force to either violate their consciences, or to drop health coverage for their employees. There is no war on religious freedom; there is, however, a war on women and a combined effort to deny us our rights to fair and equal treatment, under the disguise of eligious freedom. Even if we try to force the Catholic Church to provide a service that srikes on its doctrine because it’s a service we want, then we forfeit a sacred freedom. If we are willing to resign freedom for accomodation, then we have lost sight of the real purpose for which this country was founded. Works Cited â€Å"Catholic Church Birth Control. † Lisa Shea. Say Thank You in Japanese by Using the Word Arigatou

If you are in Japan, you will probably hear the word arigatou (㠁‚り㠁Å'㠁 ¨Ã£ â€ ) used on a regular basis. It is an informal way of saying thank you. But it can also be used in conjunction with other words to say thank you in Japanese in more formal settings, such as an office or a shop or anywhere where manners matter. Common Ways of Saying  Thank You There are two common ways of saying thank you formally: arigatou gozaimasu and arigatou gozaimashita. You would use the first phrase in a setting like an office when addressing a social superior. For example, if your boss brings you a cup of coffee or offers praise for a presentation you gave, youd thank her by saying, arigatou  gozaimasu. Written out, it looks like this:  Ã£ â€šÃ£â€šÅ Ã£ Å'㠁 ¨Ã£ â€ Ã£ â€Ã£ â€"㠁„㠁 ¾Ã£ â„¢. You can also use this phrase in less formal settings as a more general expression of thanks, either for something someone has done or will do for you.   The second phrase is used to thank someone for a service, transaction, or something that someone has done for you. For example, after a clerk has wrapped and bagged your purchase, you would thank him by saying arigatou  gozaimashita. Written out, it looks like this: 㠁‚り㠁Å'㠁 ¨Ã£ â€ Ã£ â€Ã£ â€"㠁„㠁 ¾Ã£ â€"㠁Ÿ. Grammatically, the difference between the two phrases is in the tense. In Japanese, the past tense is indicated by adding mashita to the end of a verb. For example, ikimasu (è ¡Å'㠁 Ã£ ¾Ã£ â„¢ ) is the present tense of the verb to go, while ikimashita (è ¡Å'㠁 Ã£ ¾Ã£ â€"㠁Ÿ) is the past tense.
